Required Skills/Experience: PCU RN: Minimum Experience: 1 year
Types of Patients on Unit: Adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: PCU RN: cardiac and vasoactive drip titration – please request approval to offer without this experience, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, Blood product administration, CIWA, drain/tube management, indwelling and straight catheter insertion/management, insulin drips - both DKA and non-DKA, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tube maintenance; Effective verbal and written communication, thorough physical assessments, strong clinical judgement, professional bedside manner, strong team player, positive attitude, adaptability
Technology Used on Unit: EPIC
Floating Requirements: Adult Inpatient Units - Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, ICU (depending on experience), Observation Could be floated within scope of practice and below Will float in rotation with other travelers
Shift & Scheduling: -Weekend rotation – Every other or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. -Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? Travelers are not scheduled On Call hours, but may be placed On Call related to Low Census if hours are over guaranteed weekly hours OR traveler requests to be low censused On Call -Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday minimum during contracted timeframe
