Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have 1 year of L&D experience and be trained in LDRP.
  • Must be able to triage and function as the baby catcher/transition nurse.

Special Requests:

  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details:

  • Patient population includes pregnant women, newborns, and gyn surgical patients.
  • Does not require circulating C-sections or managing post op GYN patients.
  • Titrates Pitocin drips.
  • Uses OBIX; respiratory equipment includes Bubble CPAP, CPAP, and NC.
  • OBs are not in house and have a 20 minute response time; anesthesia is in house regular business hours and on-call after hours, with a 20 min response time.
  • RT may not always be available for deliveries; the peds on call can attend deliveries.
  • Charge nurse is one of two nurses on shift.
  • No nurse aides or surgical techs on the unit.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Some self-scheduling but may be moved for unit needs.
  • Half of all weekends (F,S,S).
  • Half of winter holidays.
  • No call.

Floating Requirements:

  • First to float helping hands to Med-Surg (rare).
