Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience with 12 months within the past 3 years.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have experience with our patient populations and high acuity, we are the tertiary care center for MCHS. CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO experience are not required but certainly desired/helpful.
  • RNs required to titrate drips: Epi, Norepi, propofol, precedex, Vaso, dobutamine, heparin, insulin, dopamine, neo, milrinone.
  • RNs read and document their patient rhythm strips. GE monitors.

Required Credentials:

  • References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
  • Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Unit and facility details: Nurse Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 higher acuity pts (ex. CRRT, immediate post-op hearts, MTP, OPO), 1:3 MedSurg/floor status pts.

Shift & Scheduling: Will discuss in the interview preference of more days than nights or nights than days. Every other weekend and holiday.

Floating Requirements: If not needed in SICU for a scheduled shift, able to staff in MICU. If not needed in either SICU or MICU, able to be patient observer within hospital (ex. Suicide direct observation or BiPap safety, etc.).
