Shift: This is a 12 hour varied shift position. . Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. No On call; however, weekends and holidays as needed. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts.
Traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment.
RN needed for our Family Birthing Center: Labor and Delivery and Mother-baby trained
antepartum: assess all triage patients >20 weeks use obstetric triage acuity tools labor assessment and evaluation fetal evaluation and assessment evaluation for labor at term, PTL signs, s/s of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding, acute and critical conditions, such as MVA, large abruptio placentae, if emergency medical condition is determined to exist must stabilize the patient for delivery or transfer to higher level of care if needed
Intrapartum: labor assessment, evaluation, and care fetal evaluation and assessment preparation of expectant mother for safe delivery administration of medications including but not limited to: Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, insulin, immediate stabilization of newborn administer newborn medications prep for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery
Postpartum/Newborn: assessment and care of postpartum (vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients newborn care includes (but not limited to): hearing screen, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts and care, medication administration (hep B, vit K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assist with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care
Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location.
