Gynecology, Abdominal hysterectomy, Anterior/Posterior Repair (Colporrhaphy), Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, Vaginal Hysterectomy, Plastics, Work Settings – Acute Hospital OR, Neurology, Podiatry – Ankle fusion, Bunionectomy, General Surgery – Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Surgical First Assist Skills – Apply tourniquet as ordered, Assist to secure drainage system to tissue, Clamping/cauterizing vessels or tissues, Counting sponges & related items with circulating nurse, Cut tissue, Digital manipulation of tissue, Direct digital pressure, Suctioning, irrigation, sponging, Wound dressing; liquid or spray occlusive, Orthopedic – Arthroscopy knee/shoulder/wrist, Closed reduction of fractures, ORIF shoulder/hip/humerus, Total hip replacement, Total knee replacement, Professional Knowledge and Skills – Aseptic technique, Isolation precautions, Surgery Cases – Bariatrics, Endo/Laparoscopic, General, Gyn, Ortho, Ortho/Total joints, Podiatry, Endoscopic Procedures – Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGD, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Peg tube placement/exchange, Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies – Case cart, Crash cart, Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Bariatrics – Gastric bypass, Gastric sleeve.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Community Hospital Experience

Abdominoplasty*, Outpatient OR*, Pedi OR*, ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion), Anterior cervical fusion, Kyphoplasty*, Laminectomy/discectomy*, Lumbar fusion*, XLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion), Thyroidectomy partial/total, Dissect common femoral artery and bifurcate*, Harvest saphenous vein including skin incision*, Insert drainage tubes*, Starting peripheral IV’s*, Suturing all wound layers including muscle and fascia*, Laminectomy/discectomy* (Ortho), Spinal fusion*, Management/lead experience*, Sterilization/Disinfection*, Ortho/Spine*, Vascular*, Drills (multiple types)*.

Shift & Scheduling: Call required: Typical one night per week and one weekend per month. Holiday required per rotation. Also, one late shift per week until 5:00 availability - if 2 rooms running at 1515

Floating Requirements: Must bewilling to float to sister hospital SSM Health Good Samaritan - Mt. Vernon
