Travel Allied (Surgical Tech) - Operating Room

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• Has experience in surgeries support within the surgical team.
• Has experience in life support situations related to surgical care.
• Has experience in sterile field management.
• Has experience in sterilization processes and requirements.
• Has experience in supervision within surgical services (within ORT scope).

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• One (1) yr. OR scrubbing experience is preferred.
• One (1) yr. clinical experience in an accredited hospital is preferred.

Required Credentials:

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past Six (6) months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam), or Two (2) years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last Three (3) years.
• Training in the US military may substitute for completion of the formal surgical technologist training.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from formal, accredited surgical technologist program is required.

Preferred Credentials:

• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery is preferred.

Unit Details:

• Performs scrub duties; prepares the operating room, instruments, and case carts; provides instrumentation, suture, and supplies during procedures; may assist the surgeon by passing instruments; handles specimens for laboratory analysis; and assists with room turnover and restocking.
• May assist with sterile processing.

Shift & Scheduling:

• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions.

Floating Requirements:

• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need.
