Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler with eligibility to return and/ or internal reference check
Patient Types:
All ages – traveler will be utilized in all care areas to include ED, ICU and Med Surg
Sepsis, DKA, ETOH, ARDS, MI, Trauma, Stroke
Patient Ratios:
ED: 1:3-4 ICU: 1:1-2 (dependent on acuity/age) Med Surg: 1:5 (dependent on acuity/age)
Required Education:
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Skills required:
General ED experience, critical care experience for ICU holds, Trauma experience
Comfortability to work all care areas to include ED, ICU and Med Surg
Floating: If yes, where? if trained in all then may be floated to ER, MS, &/or ICU
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every other
Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No call
Holiday Expectations: Every other
Approval of time off? Can approve up to 7 days, traveler must extend contract 1 week for every week that is missed
No RTO during the Sturgis Bike Rally – first 3 weeks in August each year
