Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read Telemetry strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Charge or preceptor may be required.
Required Credentials: Travelers will be tested prior to orientation on arrhythmia readings, moderate sedation, and heparin distribution.
Shift & Scheduling: Must be able to work weekends, refrain from requesting a lot of time off, must be able to work holidays (cannot request all holidays off).
Floating Requirements: Floating is required within the candidate's scope of practice (5th, 6th, 7th Floor (MS/Surg). Floating Guidelines • 7th Floor (Forensics) – Secured Unit: Patients are shackled to the bed. (one to three extremities) This is not considered a restraint. Officer are always present, and are not armed. • 5th(med/surg)/6th Floors(tele): Travelers will float, but attempt to keep ICU RN max at 4 patients. • ED: Float support is task only, no patient assignments. • L&D: Not typically assigned, but if floated, nurses are given adult patients only or assist with tasks—never newborns. • Chemo-(day shift only) : Float support is Task only, no patient assignments, maybe start IV's.
