Requirements
Experience
Travel experience is required.
10 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required.
Experience with Epic is required.
References
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Must be experienced L&D but also capable of working postpartum and nursery

Every other weekend.

Ratios: Nights - 1:2 Weekends 1:6

Community Hospital Experience

Trauma Level 1 Experience

Previous Charge exp preferred

Skills required:

Work settings - Antepartum, Facility births/month >300, Labor and Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, LDRP, Mother/Baby

Antepartum Care and Procedures - Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation), NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Sterile vaginal exam, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)

Fetal Monitoring - Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Medication & Administration - Anticoagulants, Anticonvulsants, Antihypertensives, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline

Labor and Delivery Management - Amnioinfusion, Assist with high risk delivery, Assist with vaginal delivery, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Sterile vaginal exam

Newborn Care: Assist with Circumcision/Assess site post-op, Car Seat Education, Cord Care, Discharge teaching to parents, Infant Identification, Metabolic Screen, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Phototherapy, Teach Circumcision care to parents, Thermoregulation

Floating may be requested based on needs of the facility.

Prior perm employees must be gone for at least 6 months before being hired on to travel.

RTO - Keep RTO to a minimum, preferably no requests for calendar week off during assignment and no more than 7 days total. Any RTO must be in initial submission and if approved, also in confirmation document.

No additional RTO requests will be approved after an offer has been given.

BLS - AHA, ARC, Military & American Safety & Health Institute.
