Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities. Exceptions include: Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have L&D experience, as they will be primarily in L&D. Must have Children's Hospital experience within the last 3 years; Open to travelers whose experience is a level 1 adult facility. NICU or PICU experience required.
- Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex, Hand held nebulizer, T‑piece, Trach collar, Extubation, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Tracheostomy care/management, Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI), CPAP, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation, Neonatal CPAP, Nasal CPAP, BIPAP.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Nitric Oxide (INo), Perforomist, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline, Heated Nebulizer, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Required Credentials:
- NRP (req for those placed in L&D).
- Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA.
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
- IN state license required - accepts IN temp, but must have applied for both.
Unit/Facility Details: Home unit of NICU, PICU, or Peds will be assigned once at the facility but can be changed based on the need of the facility.
Special Requests: Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend.
Floating Requirements: PICU and some Peds Acute Care. Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by.
