Preferred Skills/Experience: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Administration of blood & blood products, Starting and maintaining IVs, Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring, Labor and Delivery Management, Amnioinfusion, Assist with high risk delivery, Assist with vaginal delivery, Circulate for C-section, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Recover C-Section, Sterile vaginal exam, Antepartum Care and Procedures, Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Sterile vaginal exam, Triage of obstetrical patients, Postpartum Care and Procedures, Baby friendly protocols, Episiotomy/Incisional Care, Foley catheter insertion/management, Fundus / lochia / perineum care, Wound assessment/care, Postpartum Care of the Patient with, Cesarean Section, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Vaginal Delivery, Pain Management, Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, IV conscious sedation, Pain assessment & management, Use of PCA (IV), Work Settings, Labor & Delivery, Fetal Monitoring, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID
Special Requests:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure.
For MD Locations – You must have compact license or MD license.
Shift & Scheduling:
ASAP preferred
Every other weekend required
Every other holiday required
On-call: 8 hrs per 6-week scheduling period
Floating Requirements: Laboring nurses expected to take Post Partum patients when needed
