Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have 1 year of level IV NICU exp. 2 years total level III/IV NICU exp required.
- Required Skills: IV therapy, Administration of blood & blood products, Arterial line management, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Starting and maintaining IVs, UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter), Anti-Seizure Medications, Antibiotics/Antivirals, IV vasopressors, Neonatal Dosage Calculations, Steroids, Surfactants, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Seizure disorders, NICU IV, Blood glucose monitoring, Hyperbilirubinemia, Insulin administration, Phototherapy, Breastfeeding Support, Colostomy/ileostomy management, Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), Gastroschisis/Omphalocele, NEC, OG/NG/NJ tube management, Post Abdominal Surgery, Bubble CPAP, HFNC, High Frequency Ventilation, Chest Tube Management, Meconium Aspiration, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Oscillators, Oxygen Delivery Systems, RDS, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Tracheostomy care, Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Isolation Precautions/PPE, Neonatal Sepsis, Sepsis Work Up, Neonates < 24 weeks to > 34 weeks, Thermoregulation.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Central line blood draw, ICP monitoring, Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), VP Shunts, Attend High Risk Deliveries, ECMO, Dysrhythmia Interpretation/Management, Pre-Cardiac Surgery.
Unit and facility details: Average length of stay is 2-3 years. Must be comfortable with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement.
Shift & Scheduling: At most, every other weekend requirement.
Floating Requirements: Will float to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, and MS as needed. Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations. Will be given an appropriate assignment in these areas. Will float to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU. In addition, float to other campuses, primarily Riverside and St. Ann's.
Other Requirements: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
