Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: 1 year of experience required. Pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit caring for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents with complex congenital heart disease. Special equipment includes VADs, ECMO, and CRRT. Required skills/procedures: administration of blood and blood products; antiarrhythmics; arterial line management; assist/manage intubation; care of ventilated patients; care/maintenance of acute airway; central line blood draw and implanted line care; central venous pressure and hemodynamic monitoring; congenital heart disease/repair; continuous sedation; end-tidal CO2 monitoring; heart transplant; high-flow nasal cannula; infection control/PPE and isolation precautions; insulin administration and insulin pumps; interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias; IV vasopressors; management of chest tubes, gastric tubes, and NG tubes; pediatric CVICU; pediatric dosage calculations; post cardiac catheterization, post cardiac surgery, and post pacemaker insertion care; procedural sedation administration/monitoring; phlebotomy; PICC line management; starting and maintaining IVs; suctioning (ETT, NT); telemetry monitoring on the unit; TPN/lipids; tracheostomy care; urinary catheter insertion/management; ventilator management; wound assessment/care.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Accessing/managing ports; acute/chronic renal failure; administration of chemotherapy; anti-seizure medications; aquapheresis; BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance; bone marrow transplant; continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT); ECMO; external ventricular drain (EVD); extremity fracture/cast; hydrocephalus/VP shunt; hyperthermia management; hypothermia protocol; ICP monitoring; insertion/management of pulmonary artery pressure line; liver, lung, and pancreas transplant; management of dysrhythmias; neuromuscular disease; pediatric early warning score/rapid response team; pediatric step-down; peritoneal dialysis/CAPD; PICU; post acute abdominal surgery; post neurosurgery; pre/post hemodialysis; use of Broselow system; vaccine administration; ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD). Teaching hospital, community hospital, previous charge, and Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred.
Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required. Targeted start date - 5/4 or 5/18 - All others will be redirected.
