    Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.

    References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

    Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

    Required Skills/Experience: Oncology and PCU exp

    Required Credentials:

    • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
    • RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
    • RN jobs in the following units: Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, ED/ER, Endoscopy, any ICU/critical care, IR, LTAC ICU, Med-Surg/Tele, Tele, PACU, Stepdown/PCU are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.

    Special Requests: RTO needed upfront. Additional RTO will not be approved including after submission

    Shift & Scheduling: Weekend requirements: Every other weekend

    Floating Requirements: Travelers float to med/surg and PCU units

    Step-Down Unit Travel Nurse Job Responsibilities and Salary

    Job responsibilities of a Step-Down nurse include maintaining ventilators, administering treatments and medications, collaborating with members of the healthcare team, and interacting with patients and their families. Registered Nurses who specialize in Step-Down Unit will need BLS and ACLS certifications. They will manage many high-risk IV medications such as Heparin or Insulin infusions. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is usually between 3 and 4 patients; this may vary depending on the facility. Average annual salaries in the United States for a Step-Down nurse are around $88,000.     Step-Down Unit (SDU) Travel RN Jobs in Nebraska

    Step-Down (SDU) nurses work in hospital and skilled rehab settings. The SDU is an intermediate unit between the ICU and med-surg. It is also called a Progressive Care or Transitional Care Unit. Patients are not as acutely ill as in the ICU, but are also not stable enough to be on a med-surg unit with a higher nurse-to-patient ratio.
