Special Requests:
- An interview may not be available prior to offer.
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
- Each employment history entry on the resume must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility.
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.
- Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care; refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract.
- RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
- Blocked scheduling will not be approved unless it is weekends only.
- Duo candidates requesting the same schedule or sharing a car will not be considered.
- Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation covering skills learned; all necessary resources are provided. A score of 90% is required to pass or the contract will be terminated.
- Typical patient population includes total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulder procedures, and spine surgeries involving the back and neck.
- RNs are not required to titrate drips. Common drips include pain medications, antibiotics, and blood.
- Telemetry boxes are used, and tele techs read and interpret strips. -will not approve blocked scheduling unless it's weekends only, I can ask. They also will not take duos that want same schedule or share car.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation.
- Every other weekend.
- Holidays rotate with permanent staff.
- If placed on call and called back in, arrival is required within 30 minutes.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity.
Required Credentials: Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
