Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Unit has telemetry so they need that skill. Would accept a first time traveler who is proficient with Cerner documentation and has excellent references. Respiratory, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy care/management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Work Settings, ER Holding, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Medications, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Genitourinary/Renal, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Plastics, Surgical drains, Orthopedics, Total joint replacement
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs
Required Credentials: Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Drivers License/State ID
Special Requests:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure.
For MD Locations – You must have compact license or MD license.
Shift & Scheduling:
Holiday Requirement: Will have to work 2/3 winter holidays and other future holidays during the contract
No on call requirements
Weekend Coverage: Every Other
Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
