- At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Ventriculostomy, ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, tPA, acute stroke management, post craniectomy
- RNs are required to titrate drips. This is an ICU, so they will take any drips that the physician orders; they are not set rates all the time, but some may be.
- Common diagnoses/types of patients: ventrics, strokes with/without TPA, cranis
- Nurses read and interpret their own strips; tele tech staffed on every shift
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend
- Rotating every other holiday
Floating Requirements:
- Travelers float first. Being a higher level of care, nurses can float to any unit in the hospital, including intermediate and general floors. Intermediate ratio is 1:3; on a general floor they would take 1:4.
