Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have 2 years of L&D experience and some postpartum experience.
- Must be comfortable working in both L&D and postpartum.
- Must have the ability to work with high-risk patients.
- Must be able to circulate in C-sections.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience in a similar-size L&D and PP/MB department preferred.
- Insulin gtt experience preferred; willing to train.
Special Requests:
- At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Unit Details:
- Cares for patients 30+ weeks and stabilizes and ships out babies under 30 weeks.
- Level 3 NICU supports 30+ weeks.
- RNs are not expected to read and interpret their own telemetry strips, but should be able to identify rhythm changes, basic rhythms, and life-threatening rhythms.
- Uses CPN and GE Connect for fetal monitoring.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend; nights are typically Friday and Saturday as able and may change based on unit needs.
- May be asked to go into the holiday rotation.
- Travelers cannot work more than 5 shifts in a row.
- Travelers are asked to stay flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
Floating Requirements:
- Can be floated throughout the hospital for sitter shifts when necessary; travelers are typically the first to float for sitter shifts.
- Will be asked to freely float between L&D and PP/MB depending on staffing and census.
Previous Employment Requirements:
- Previous employees may be considered only as one-off exceptions with approval from St. Luke’s Health System.
Required Credentials:
- Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
