Required Skills/Experience:

• Competency with arterial lines required.

Required Credentials:

• Pass/fail open-book orientation exam on Wednesdays covering skills learned; must score 90% to pass.
• You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.

Special Requests:

• Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
• Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
• Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
• Block scheduling is generally not approved; weekends-only block scheduling may be considered.
• Will not take a duo who needs to share care or needs the same schedule.
• RTO must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission.

Unit Details:

• Adult PCU/stepdown population includes cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer placement, and renal failure patients.
• RNs titrate heparin, nitro, dopamine, Cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips.
• Unit uses high-flow respiratory support.
• RNs read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
• Unit has a charge nurse on each shift and nursing assistants at 1:12.
• Equipment includes overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners.
• Patient population includes diverse cultural populations, primarily Hispanic and Somalian.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• Minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract timeframe.
• If placed on call and called back in, arrival is required within 30 minutes.

Floating Requirements:

• May float to Med-Surg or ICU to take PCU-acuity patients.
