The Program Pillars

happy face icon

Mental Wellbeing

Your trainer will help you set goals around dealing with mental stress, caregiver guilt, COVID-19-specific stressors, and any other mental or emotional hurdles you would like to tackle, using cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, or coaching strategies.

meditation icon

Physical Wellbeing

Mental and physical health are intrinsically linked. Since the nursing vocation rarely allows for a fixed schedule, your trainer will help guide you towards a physical regimen that works for you; using everything from yoga to cardio to enhance your holistic health.

Nutritional Wellbeing

Many nurses believe that their constantly moving schedule does not allow for much choice when it comes to meals and nutrition. Your trainer can discuss how to optimize your food to work for you, carve out time for meals, and fuel your body to allow for more energy at work and away from work.

Sleep Wellbeing

Possibly the biggest pain point among nurses; getting enough sleep, the right kind of sleep and quality of sleep is always a challenge. Your trainer will work with you to build strategies to optimize your sleep schedule and even help you work through nightmares and insomnia.

Schedule

Your specific training schedule is dictated and adjusted to fit your needs. That being said, to complete the course, we require a minimum of 4 weeks of participation with at least 6 sessions. You are free to add more sessions at any time, and the program is open for a total of 8 weeks.

My name is Shelby Johnson and I have been a nurse for 5 years. I’ve worked in the cardio thoracic intensive care unit at Nationwide Childrens Hospital for the past 5 years (currently PRN status) and have worked at the James Cancer Hospital for the past 2 years. I am an Air Force Veteran and love going abroad on medical mission trips. I have been married for almost 2 years and just had my first kiddo 3 months ago! Looking forward to diving into wellness with you as we all juggle the chaos of the world, our jobs, our passions, and our home lives!

Hi, my name is Erin Smith and I have been a Registered Nurse for 12 years. I have worked in the psych field for my whole career as a nurse. Most of my experience has been with child and adolescent behavioral health. I am married with two daughters who keep me on my toes. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to re-decorate my home, garden, play games, cook, walk, bike, and spend time at the lake. I look forward to working with you on this journey of wellness!

Hi! My name is Brenna and I am a Nurse Practitioner student providing wellness support during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been working as an RN on my hospital's designated COVID unit and can relate to some of the struggles nurses around the country are currently experiencing. The nursing profession has always stepped up to meet the health challenges facing the public and I know that we will continue to step up by taking care of our patients, each other, and ourselves.

Hello! My name is Caleb Huffman. I am currently working as a nurse in the ER and COVID ICU at OSU Wexner Medical Center throughout this pandemic. During this pandemic, I want to give as much support as I am able to as well as positivity and encouraging words. What a great occupation to get to care for others on a daily basis, but as nurses, we often put our own health and wellness aside. I work in oncology and realize just how important it is to take care of ourselves first and foremost especially during these difficult times. We are all in this together!

Hi! My name is Jannine and I am one of the students who is providing wellness support! I want you to know that I am FOR you. I would like to extend that same compassion in support of our nurses at the frontlines battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

My background includes many years as a servicemember, partly in a combatant branch of the service and some in non-combatant, humanitarian based. Both included deployments into somewhat unknown territories for the unexpected... this current circumstance reflects that feeling. We’re all in this together and must watch out for the well-being of each other. Namaste.

Hello, my name is Taylor Hale. I am a graduate student looking forward to providing wellness support! I always find helping others helps broaden my view of my own life. Testimonials

The wellness coaching was a great opportunity to talk through stressful situations and reflect on past and previous actions regarding health for me! I enjoyed being able to consider new ways to help me achieve goals.

I feel more confident… The part of all this that was most helpful to me was the ‘partnership.’ …we spent time simply talking about strategies, what has worked in the past, and what has not. I would recommend this be made available again. Thank you for letting me participate.

I am thankful for this opportunity and immediately saw how this applies to my career (in nursing). It inspired me.

I think (my coach) and I got along really well and I think we both have a similar sense of humor. I was surprised that I actually had fun while working on my wellness goals! This program was educational and inspiring.

I agreed to participate because I thought it would be a good thing for the student who was learning to coach, to give them practice in wellness coaching. I actually liked this much more than I thought I would. I have started running again, and am getting along better with my daughters. Working on my self-care was a benefit to me …and my family!

During this pandemic, I want to give back as much as possible…We are all in this together and must watch out for the well-being of each other.

I loved this! It gave me an opportunity to reach out and connect… Talking on the phone was a nice way to connect and I honestly looked forward to my weekly calls.
