Additional Details:
A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.
Guaranteed Hours: 48
Charge is preferred but optional.
Weekend Hours: at least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Medical / Nephrology / Inpatient Rehab are sister units. They may float to Cardiology to take lower acuity patients or Med/Surg. May also float to Pediatrics to take adult patients only.
Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: Adults ranging in age from 18-100+
Must Have Skills/Experience: Post operative patient care which includes ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries, NG tubes, chest tubes, foley catheter / turps, respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, pain management
Common Diagnosis/Treatment: mixture of med/surg patients will be seen on the Surgical Unit.
