Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience with 1 months within the past 6 months.
Trauma Level 3 experience is required from any number of months
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, knowledgeable about hypothermia protocol, chest tubes, drains, invasive line monitoring (a-lines, CVP)

Preferred Skills/Experience: Stronger in Medical than CV/surgical is preferred

Required Credentials:

• MHS Rhythm Interpretation Exam

• Medication Exam

• Diploma

• If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

• Medical ICU: DKA, DTs, Multisystem failure, ARDs, CIWA/ETOCH, sepsis, PNA, COVID (could have mixed assignment)

• Surgical ICU: Open abdomen, thoracotomies

• Neuro (rarely neuro/trauma ICU): CVA, intracranial hemorrhage, craniotomy/craniectomy, EVDs, ICP Monitoring

• CVICU – CABG/TAVR (24-48 hr post op), fem-pop bypass, AAA repair

• Travelers are not expected to care for: CRRT, impella, balloon pumps, ECMO

Equipment Used on Unit: BD Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis (medication dispensing)

Unit/Facility Details:

• Bed - 388

• Level 3 Trauma Center with 18 mixed ICU beds: 8 single occupancy, 5 are double

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation; Night shift: will attempt to cluster shifts together as possible
