Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend Requirements: No weekend rotation, traveler may work mostly weekends
Holiday Expectations: Yes, 2/4 major holidays
On call Required: Yes, only if placed on call for Low Census
Orientation: General Traveler orientation and 1 day/1 night on unit
Float Requirement: PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, Adult (Constant Observation Only) - (overflow on peds unit)
Required Credentials: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Required Skills/Experience: Vent management, IV Starts, chest tubes, IV med titration
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with Neonatal Resuscitation
Patient Population: Neonates – all gestational ages
Level 3 NICU
No ECMO, No cardiac surgery at this time
Common Diagnoses: Low Birth weight, High frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, total body cooling, feeders/growers
Previous Employment Requirements:
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Unit Details:
Beds: 28; average census 13-16
Others: Will accept first time travelers if with 2+ years experience
