Required Skills/Experience: Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, if greater than 1 year of experience. 1st time traveler Must have Epic experience. Skills: Comfortability to take MedSurg assignments – please decline if not. Previous experience including IMC/stepdown and neuro (can float to ONS); ability to read/interpret cardiac strips, wound care, line management, drain/tube management, drip titration of below medications. Drip Titration: please ensure nurse is comfortable with the following – Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed (up to 5 mcg), occasionally esmolol drips or other Betablockers or other antihypertensives.
Required Credentials: Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Unit/Facility Details: Free Parking.
Special Requests: Currently not accepting RTO requests during holidays – send RTO requests to manager for approval around winter holidays. Time off: Ok to approve up to a week and a half – must extend if taking a full week off. We do have blackout dates from August 1-18th (exact dates change each year) due to our Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. No time off is approved during this time.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Travelers could be scheduled for up to 4 out of the 6 weekends, which include Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please include in offer if traveler is open to working every weekend (WOW) as this may be a possibility. No mandatory call time. If it is an extra shift on top of their already guaranteed hours, and we have enough staff then they could be placed on call for that shift.
Floating Requirements: Any Adult Inpatient Unit - Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, Observation. Could be floated within scope of practice and below. Will float in rotation with other travelers.
