Additional Details:
A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
Current PALS or ENPC certification required
Required to take call:
One weeknight (Monday-Thursday 8PM-7AM) every other week
One weekend (8PMFriday -7AM Monday) every 6-8 weeks depending on staffing. Might have two weekends through duration of contract
Types of patients on the unit: could see anything from newborn tubes to geriatric.
Typical cases include orthopedics, general surgery, some vascular, ENT, urology, and breast reconstructions.
Previous PACU experience is good as well as critical care experience.
Charting can be trained if they have critical care experience.
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perioperative Department-specific competency validation.
Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
Perioperative RN Residency, or recently practicing in an OR/Perioperative Setting preferred.
Any employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained.
