Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

12 months of Step Down Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months

Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Mississippi license or compact license

Additional Details:

Candidates who have 2+ years of experience, 3 days or less RTO and who can start on date posted in the position can be auto-offered.

Shift: 6:45p-7:08a

Hcp will be scheduled based upon need. No block scheduling. No self-scheduling.

Weekend and holiday requirements.

A candidate would be required to work 2 of the 6 Holidays. They would be required to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Years Eve and New Years Day (non-negotiable for the unit). Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Year Day

Float as needed between units 3W (28 beds), 2W (28 beds), 3 Central (16 beds).

28 bed unit.

Patient care modality: Respiratory failure, COPD, Kidney failure, overdoses, sepsis. 2 West also has vascular pre and post op patients.

All titratable drips, IV insertions, central line management, trach management.

Vent types: Baxter IV Pump, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps, Drager Ventilators, Omnicell med cabinet.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
Strongly prefer 400+bed or level 2 trauma experience

All RNs will be required to take and pass a “pre assignment Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia (rhythm Strip) test and RNs should be prepared, passing score is 80%.
