PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care

Block scheduling can not be guaranteed.

36-hour guarantees only (no 48s) – can pick up additional shifts

Travel pairs cannot request the same schedule

Cannot have an employment gap in the past 4+ months.

Charge to make schedule to balance unit needs, will take travelers requests into consideration.

Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend days per month - Days: Saturday, Sunday

Holiday Requirement: 3/5 holidays

Floating Requirements: ICU within patient population, and MS floors

Beds 36

Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 could have some mixed MS and PCU patients, 1:5 for all MS patients

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, pacer, TAVR, CABG day 2, recovers Cath pts after sheath is pulled, Watchman, bradycardia, VT, general PCU overflow: respiratory failure, low BPs, low hemoglobin, sepsis, post surgical, etc.

Must have PCU/Stepdown/Tele Experience on this unit.

Prefer experience with TAVR and CABG (core staff usually take)

Travelers must have experience with all drips - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: amiodarone, Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, start nitro, insulin

Travelers need to read tele, however there is a dedicated monitor tech as well

Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? Navy Blue
