Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
ADN completion required

Additional Details:

A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

Must have at least 2 + years of experience with:

Cervical exams

Infant delivery (deliveries will occasionally need the assistance of RNs while on call physician reports)

Practicing in a community hospital setting with a regional mission

Must have Charge level experience

Weekend Hours: Varies

Call Requirements: None

Patient Ratio: AWHONN standards / 75 deliveries on unit monthly

Patient Population: Adult, Newborn

Required Skill / Experience:

Labor and delivery experience for labor positions.

All need postpartum couplet care experience.

Nursery experience in a level 2 nursery or higher acuity for SCN positions.

Preferred: Fetal Monitoring, stabilization of a neonate, trouble shooting high acuity situations and good triage assessment skills

Patient Types / Common Diagnosis: Labor, GDM, Hypertension, IUGR, Macrosomia, Drug use in pregnancy

Education: ADN or BSN

AWHONN (must be renewed every 2 years)
