Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Cardiac Transitional Care Unit experience.

BSN completion preferred

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license

Cardiac Medical Stepdown

Shift & Scheduling:

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Float Requirement: Floating to CVSU, Cardiopulmonary, Heart and Vascular Step Down, Comp Med Step down, and Cardiology Tele Step down

Required Credentials: Diploma of Nursing

Required Skills/Experience: 2+ years stepdown experience, experience with cardiac drips (amiodarone, Lasix, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, milrinone, etc.)

Must know how to interpret heart rhythms

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with VAD, care of post open heart, cath, vascular surgery, and cardiac patients

Patient Population: All patient populations requiring cardiac monitoring.

Common Diagnoses: Acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure.

Unit Details: 28-bed unit specializing in the recovery of patients following vascular and electrophysiology procedures.
