Additional Details:
Shift: Mix of 2x8-hour (0730 - 1600) and 2x10-hour (0630 - 1700) shifts per week with weeknight and weekend call responsibilities.
Call Required. Call shifts- up two every third
Minimum two years of Cardiovascular Technologist work experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory required.
Electrophysiology or EP experience, Strong EP Ablation experience required.
Education: Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Technologist (CVIS) training program. One year of Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) or Interventional Radiology experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
1 year of level 1 trauma center or similar sized hospital
Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
Trauma Level II Experience: Preferred
With high acuity cath lab experience.
Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.

Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
Number of Visits Per Day: 20
Special Procedures/Unit Details: High acuity and high volume lab that performs diagnostic angiography, complex PCI, structural heart, and STEMI.
RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract.
Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday, but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change – traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts:
Adult Exam:
100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole
No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure]
Passing score of 80% or higher
Pediatric Exam
Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia
Passing score of 80% or higher
Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts Vaya will notify recruitment of the results. Recruitment will notify the hiring manager that the traveler’s assignment will be cancelled.
