Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
10 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Block Schedules: No

Provides comprehensive care to neonates in a Level III NICU, focusing on the treatment of patients from 22 weeks gestation and above.

This role involves managing respiratory distress, glucose management, and care for neonates requiring surgery or cardiac interventions

Provide specialized care to neonates, including those < 24-28 weeks, with a focus on respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management.

Special Procedures: Perform and manage procedures including arterial line management, central line care, and neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions.

Oversee ventilator settings and adjustments (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Required:

Experience in NICU Level III and Level IV settings

Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Proficient in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes.

Expertise in infection control measures and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management.

Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) will be given special consideration.

Patient Types / Diagnoses: Level III: 22 weeks gestation +, respiratory distress, glucose management, patients requiring surgery or cardiac interventions transferred to NCH main campus.

Floating: Yes - Will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
