Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience is required from the last 4 years.
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Nevada license

Additional Details:

Housing: Confirm the candidate has looked into housing in the area with the submittal. Leads available.

Unit Details:

  • Beds: 16 M/S beds and 3 ICU beds. Nurses station sits in the middle of the 2 areas.

  • Unit Specific Orientation: 1 day of general orientation and 1-2 Days of orientation with a preceptor.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

  • Common diagnoses: Medical, surgical, pediatric, and skilled or acute rehab (SWING), and ICU patients: DKA, Sepsis, ETOH Withdrawal, Hyper/Hypotension, CHF or COPD exacerbation, basic surgical patients, comfort cares, and more.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience: Must have ICU experience. Need experience in similar size facility.
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Pediatric experience.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Self-scheduling with guidelines, 4-week blocks posted two weeks before start of the
  • Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
  • Holiday Requirement: One major and minor per season.
  • Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: We do place nurses or CNAs on call if census permits, and it is an extra shift or

Special Requests:

  • Will consider block scheduling, but do NOT guarantee it. Will not make.

Floating Requirements: Med/Surg/ICU all one unit, may be helping hands to LTC, ER, and OB.
