If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.
Traveler must be willing to float to ALLENMORE HOSPITAL (2.5 miles away).
Floating within TG to all PCUs, MSUs, ED-Holding. Rarely, could also float to Allenmore (2.5 miles away). Will try to notify in advance if needing to float to Allenmore.
Will take first-time traveler with strong PCU/Tele and previous float pool experience.
Patient Types Travelers Expected to Care For: Most common unit you will be on is ED Holding. This is not considered your home unit, but it is a unit where you should expect to spend most of your contract. You will float to inpatient PCU area but will likely spend most of your shifts working in the ED Holding area.
Neuro, Trauma, Medical, Surgical
Respiratory compromise, Sepsis, renal failure, bleeding disorders, general surgical patients, CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, General medical, various ortho cases.
CCU (Cardiac Step Down), Cardiac Short Stay (Observation).
24 hours post CABG/ TAVRS, STEMI, Fem - Pop Bypass, Pacemaker insertion, Ablation, CHF, R/O Chest pain, Post Cardiac Catheterization (uses the radial approach).
Patient Ratios: PCU/CCU/ACC: 1:4
Skills required: IV Medication Titration, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, bipap management, ostomy, general drains, traches, chest tubes, lumbar drains; TR Bands experience (preferred).
Scheduling: Schedule is typically made for 3-weeks at a time, which comes out 7-10 days prior.
Every other weekend
Could work back-to-back weekends (rare)

Orientation: 1-day general hospital orientation 1 day of unit orientation (12 hours) on PCU unit 1 day of light unit orientation Traveler Telemetry Competency Required Required to be completed and passed prior to start. SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam.

Saline Flushes considered medication. Do not leave at the bedside or in your scrub pocket Do not leave medications in unlocked cart. When wasting medications, two-nurse verification is required.
