Required Skills/Experience:
• Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to.
• Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine.
• Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.
• IV therapy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Respiratory/Thoracic, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, Fresh tracheostomy, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Respiratory failure, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Work Settings, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Cardiovascular, Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP), Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Epicardial Pacing Wire Care and Management, Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR), Valve Replacement/Repair, Genitourinary/Renal, CVVHD/CRRT, Medications, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Neurological, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Professional Topics and Skills, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area.
• Teaching Hospital Experience
• Accessing/Managing Ports, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR), Sheath Removal, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, CVA/Acute Stroke management, ICP monitoring, Post Craniotomy, Post Neurosurgery management, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG.
Unit/Facility Details:
• Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite.
• Other transportation options are available: Bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.
• Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change – traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter).
• Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID
Shift & Scheduling:
• Day / Night Rotation: Day (07:00 - 19:30) Night (19:00 - 07:30)
• Every other weekend; Some holidays; No call.
• Pre-Approved Time Off: 2 Requests
Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract.
