Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

12 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Psychiatric Unit experience is required.

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Massachusetts license

Additional Details:

Seasonal Flu Vaccine is required if working during flu season (September 15-April 30th).

Must be fully vaccinated (exemptions are reviewed on a very limited basis).

Shift and scheduling: No Block Scheduling for any Travelers at Salem, Days/Eves/Nights Rotate & every other weekend,

Rotating Shifts Required: Yes, for Day Rotate. Rotation not required for Night Shift.

Required skills/experience: 2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych experience. Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell), Proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC, Proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects, Able to assume the role of charge nurse, Able to complete admissions and discharges, Competent in the use of IV pumps, Competent in care of a diabetic patient

**Types of patients on the unit:**Patient Population Geriatric Adults.

Required Credentials: Certification in De-escalation.
