Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Our team is competent in several advanced cardiovascular and critical care devices including Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella CP and 5.5, Heartmate 2 and 3 Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), Right Ventricle Assist Device (RVAD), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)  Types of Patients on Unit: Most of our patients have a diagnosis of ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), cardiac arrest, heart failure (HF), and post cardiac surgery including coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, tissue and mechanical valve replacement, valve repair, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Cases Seen: 4 open hearts/day  Unit/Facility Details: 30-bed critical care unit with 23 beds dedicated to medical and surgical cardiac patients. The remaining beds house the center’s surgical intensive care unit  Floating Requirements: May Float to IMC units
