Required Skills/Experience:
- Skills: Work Settings: MS/Tele, Telemetry. Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring. Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols. IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs. MEDICATIONS: Heparin Protocols, PCA. Respiratory: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Oxygen face masks, Non-invasive airway management. Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.
- Special Requirements: Patient Diagnoses: Medical Diagnosis related pulmonary, wounds, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, general renal.
- Teaching Hospital experience.
- Any charting system.
- Patient Ratio Experience: 1:5
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Skills: Work Settings: Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding. Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams. Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal: Renal failure. Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA. Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, Total Joint Replacements. Plastics: Surgical drains. Respiratory: Tracheostomy Management.
- Previous Charge experience.
Required Credentials: Roles requiring state licensure only: Floating roles must have MO license and is in the process of applying for KS license (+ vice-versa) or must have a compact licensure to apply.
Special Requests: RTO and scheduling requests required at submission.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.
- Weekend REQ: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke’s 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S.
Floating Requirements: Float to all intermediate areas in SLH.
Saint Luke’s is a Nicotine free (this includes patches, gum, vape, etc.) Health System – all travelers will be tested upon hire. If found with nicotine in your system, you will be canceled and may be ineligible for re-hire.
If requesting 7 days of RTO, the expectation is that the missed time is made up
