Unit Details: Adult and pediatric burn trauma surgical ICU
Patient ratios 1:2 for critical care patients. 1:1 nursing care support for burn trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity and post-operative patients.
Required Skills/Experience: Needs include invasive hemodynamic monitoring (At least Q 1 hr), IV drip titration, nurse driven burn fluid resuscitation following Parkland formula, ventilator management, CVVH, Q 1 h pulse and flap doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, epidural pumps.
Types of Patients on Unit: Both adult and pediatric burn trauma patients with injuries including flame, scald, electrical, chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis throughout continuum of care.
Special Requests: No Block Scheduling.
Previous Employment Requirements: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.
