Travel Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit

Previous Employment Requirements: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more, Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location

Required Skills/Experience: MS/Tele: Telemetry; Interpretation of dysrhythmias: Telemetry monitoring; Use of Rapid Response Teams: Feeding tube care and management; IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs,

Preferred Skills/Experience: IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing Ports, Starting and maintaining IVs; Oncologic Emergencies: Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Sepsis; Chemotherapy: Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy; Work Settings: Inpatient oncology; Care of Patient With: Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics, Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients

Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds

Special Requests: No set/blocked scheduling

Shift & Scheduling: (D/N option available) Weekends: Variable based on unit needs, Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: variable based on unit needs

Floating Requirements: to other MedSurg Oncology units
