Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Previous Employment Requirements: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Required Skills/Experience: • MS/Tele. Must have MS oncology and at least 1 year hematology / oncology experience in work history and checklist- 1 year minimum to Screen.

• Telemetry • Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Telemetry monitoring • Use of Rapid Response Teams • Feeding tube care and management • IV therapy/Phlebotomy • Blood Product Administration • Central line blood draw • Peripheral Line Care/Management • PICC line management • Starting IVs

IV Therapy/ Infusions Administration of blood & blood products Central line blood draw Central Line/Implanted Line Care PICC line care Oncologic Emergencies Chemotherapy Work Settings Telemetry Interpretation Telemetry monitoring

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Accessing Ports Starting and maintaining IVs Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS) Sepsis Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values Inpatient oncology Care of Patient With Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma Multiple Myeloma

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics.

Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds.

Unit/Facility Details: Special Focus: Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols. Patient falls prevention.

Special Requests: Schedule: No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing. RTO required with submission, must be built into contract.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends: Variable based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: to other Med Surg Oncology units.
