Guaranteed Hours 40.
8 week schedule, try to work with requests, no self scheduling.
Weekend Requirements: 2 weekend days per month. allow for more weekends if a weekend schedule is preferred.
What areas are they required to cover: Acute Inpatient, OP MBSS/VFSS.
Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient?: Acute Inpatient, OP MBSS (modified barium swallow study)/VFSS (video fluoroscopic swallow study).
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Neurologic-CVA, MS, Parkinson, Guillain Barre, cranial surgeries, spinal surgeries, only thing we don't typically TBI; general medical, orthopedic-total joints, fractures; cardiac-pacers, CABG, valve replacements; oncology, don't see transplant patients.
Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties:
- Must have 1 year of acute experience as an CCC-SLP and proficiency in performing MBSS/VFSS.
- Must be able to evaluate and treat both dysphagia and cognitive deficits.
- Proficiency in performance of MBSS/VFSS FEES (fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation) also available but not required.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color scrubs or business casual accepted.
