Weekday and weekend call requirement
Must have experience Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area (3 or above).
Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to. This is a hard requirement.
Strongest skills should be in cardiac/thoracic: ECMO, CABG(Coronary artery bypass graft), ascending, LVAD, thoracic, thoracic robot Davinci Xi, lobectomy, mitral valves, VATS, lung resection
Preferred: transplant not required if can do everything else
Floating: Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract.
Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday, but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start.
This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change – traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter).
