Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 22 months of Operating Room experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Circulate and scrub experience
  • general surgery including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, inguinal/umbilical hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, mastectomy, partial/total thyroidectomy, Whipple procedure; gynecology including abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair (colporrhaphy), dilation & curettage, laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, vulvectomy; plastics including abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, fat grafting, free flap microvascular procedures, mastectomy with TRAM flap reconstruction; ENT including endoscopic sinus procedures, laryngectomy, mastoidectomy/tympanoplasty/stapedectomy, radical neck dissection, septoplasty/rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy; thoracic procedures including lobe resection, thoracotomy, VATS, mediastinoscopy; neurology including anterior cervical fusion, cervical fusions, craniotomy, VP shunt insertion, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion; orthopedic procedures including laminectomy/discectomy, ortho/spine care, spinal fusion, total joint replacement; urology including cystectomy, cystoscopy, laparoscopic assisted cases, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, TURP; endoscopic procedures including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, PEG tube placement/exchange; emergency management including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia; equipment and instrumentation including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords; professional knowledge including administration of blood & blood products, cardiac monitoring, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and universal protocol (time out) procedures; work settings including general OR.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • We prefer RNs rated 3-4 in neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, general, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flaps, and robotics (Da-Vinci).
  • Experience in oncology
  • Teaching Hospital Experience
  • scrub ENT surgery, scrub general surgery, scrub gynecology surgery, scrub plastics surgery, robotics including colorectal, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, otolaryngologic, TORS, and urologic robotic surgery, use of Da Vinci SP and Xi systems, and additional skills including scrub/circulate and oncology experience.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Combination of 8, 10, and, 12-hour shifts to equate 40 hrs/week, Shift options: 06:30 - 17:00, 6:30 - 19:00 or 10:30 - 20:30
  • Call: typically, staff sign up for 2-3/4-week schedule period.
  • Weekend Coverage: Every Other
