Shift & Scheduling: Every Other Weekend Required
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
OT and extra shifts are available.
Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks.
Block scheduling is generally not available.
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
Required Skills / Experience: Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Types of Patients on Unit: Standard ER patients. No trauma. Psych holds up front with security
Unit Details: 19 ED beds. 3 Fast track (middle hallway). 2 Triage with separate entrance
"Triangle" unit set up. 2 main hallways at angles to a central smaller hallway.
Others: Charge references are accepted
Orientation: 12 Hours; 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
Special Requirements: Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
Prior acceptance, the dys exam is required and must be completed within 24-48 hours. It is pass/fail - 2 attempts.
The facility can accept the Relias Dys exam within the last 12mo if the traveler has previously taken
