Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area - Preferred
Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years
Telemetry:
Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start
Passing score of 80% or higher
Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass
Provide care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures, heart and/or lung transplants and various medical devices.
Floating:
Travelers are the first.
The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

Patient Types: CVCT ICU specializes in the care of cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients.
Specifically CABG, Valve Repair/Replace, Aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, LVAD, Heart transplant, lung transplant, thoracic surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, Cardiogenic shock, Heart failure, arrythmia management.
Staff assignments often change throughout a shift as patients are transferred out of the ICU and new patients are welcomed in as both a planned admission from the OR, or unplanned admit from ER, referring facility, or the community.
RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process.
Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required.
Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday
Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change)
Orientation is typically about one week.
