Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:
HIGH acuity: Hypertension, Mg administration, C-sections (33% c section rate), Preterm labor, Insulin drips (rarely- follow protocol), vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, Robust antepartum, PROM, Multiple births, post-partum hemorrhage
Transition post vaginal births and C-Section (mom and baby) Expectation is full recovery of birthing patient and baby; If there is a second set of hands to attend the birth and they will assign APGARS, but no guarantee they will be available after that to help care for the baby Up to 300 deliveries per month
Equipment Used on Unit: IV pumps: Alaris CareFusion, Fetal Surveillance: Centricity/Qx, Epidural Pumps- CAD Solaris, Panda Warmers, Coviden SCD’s
