Try to do block scheduling on night shift. First day you will meet with manager to discuss scheduling. Schedule is out 4 Weeks in advance.
Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per month.
Holiday Requirements: Expectation is to work to meet the needs of the unit.
Floating Requirements: May be asked to float to ICU or PCU at Bryan; First to Float between College Station and Bryan campus (16 minutes apart) as needed.
Beds: 12 (typical census 6-8)
Nurse Patient Ratios: 1:2- ICU for PCU 1:4 - all same unit
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Cardiac- MI, abdominal surgery, ortho surgery, Sepsis, overdose, COVID, general surgery. Post Cath lab- some sheath removal (not required skill) Impella (not required), IABP (not required).
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips All common critical care drips
RNs must be able to interpret strips.
RN must pass the Basic Dysrhythmia (83%) before signing the contract. They will be given three attempts to pass.
Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy - undershirts must be navy. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
