Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
12 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
12 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license

Additional Details:

Skills checklist must be completed within the last 6 months for Application. Upon accepting an offer, you will be assigned Relias exams that must be taken immediately (within 48hrs). If you fail the exam twice, this may result in an immediate cancellation by the facility.

Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Experience in a Tertiary care facility

Shift: 12N or 12D/N

No blocked scheduling

Floating - to areas of equal or lesser care

Will be required to float between NSICU and SICU

Skills that will be utilized are NIHSS, lumbar, ventriculostomy and ICP management.

Management of arterial line, central line, various cranial drains, and mechanical ventilation management are also essential nursing skills.

Various intravenous drips concurrent with the ICU setting including pain, sedation, vasopressors etc

Temperature management with hypo and hyperthermia protocols and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) are also essential in care for the critically ill

Dress Code: Solid Black or White uniforms for Nurses

EKG exam & Pharm exam - must pass during compliance process - prestart

Primary Population: Acute stroke management, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-neurosurgical and endovascular management, seizure and status epilepticus management, guillain barre, myasthenia gravis, any other critically ill neuroscience patient
