Required Skills/Experience: Must have MedSurg, Tele, Peds experience, Wide skill set required d/t variety of patient age and dx. Will have a nursing coordinator available for assistance.
Types of Patients on Unit: Peds to Geriatrics. Wide variety of illness/injury, chronic and acute. Commonly admit respiratory dx, infectious dx, GI, ETOH intoxication/withdrawal, liver disease, AKI, DM, DKA, swingbed/rehab, occasional social admit.
Equipment Used on Unit: Bipap, Vent, Glidescope, Heated high flow, bubble c-pap, as well as standard oxygen supplies such as : nasal cannula, oxi mask, non-rebreather, high flow cannula
Unit/Facility Details: # of Beds: 25 (max census in recent months 12-14 patients)
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend, holidays as needed, Weekend Requirement: 2 out of 6 weekend minimum requirement; may be asked to fill in as needed on additional weekends. If on straight nights/ block scheduling - it will be every other weekend. Holiday Requirement: Yes, will consider RTO if given ahead of time. Is there Call or a Standby requirement? No call, OT opportunity if needed.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
