Patient Population: Patients requiring intermediate care between ICU and med/surg levels

Common cases includes post-cardiac procedures, stable ventilator weans, and telemetry monitoring

SCU nurses are responsible for providing care to patients who require close monitoring but are more stable than ICU patients.

Must be comfortable with telemetry, managing post-surgical recovery, and providing support for patients transitioning out of critical care.
